Introduction

Elite Curated conducts its journalism in accordance with the guidelines of the Australian Press Council. Our principles are as follows:

Independence, Integrity & Responsibility

The trust and respect of the Elite Curated readership relies on Elite Curated’s editorial independence, integrity and responsibility. As a reader-centric publication, we uphold these values at all times.

Accuracy & Clarity

Elite Curated ensures that factual material in news stories and features is accurate, well researched and distinguishable from other material such as opinion pieces.

Corrections

Elite Curated will provide a correction or other sufficient remedial action if published material is inaccurate or misleading.

Fairness & Balance

Elite Curated ensures that facts are presented with reasonable fairness and balance. When Elite Curated writers are quoting a source (or a social media post), writers ensure that it is clear where the information has come from, and present it fairly. Elite Curated writers also ensure reasonable counterarguments to any major claim reported are available for readers to see, and to make up their own minds about.

Privacy & Avoidance Of Harm

When reporting, Elite Curated seeks to balance the public interest with respect for privacy when it comes to the disclosure of information and freedom of expression.

Harm & Offence

As one of Australia’s most innovative men’s publishers, Elite Curated’s mission is to find fresh content that informs and educates our large audience. Our readers are hungry for new ideas and to have their preconceptions challenged – hence our focus on creating original, thought-provoking content. This involves experimenting with ideas and impartially reporting on stories and events some might find offensive.

Advertising & Sponsorship

Elite Curated always draws a clear line between its editorial content and branded content. This is achieved via a call-out sentence at the top or bottom of all sponsored content.

Complaints Policy

At Elite Curated, we take pride in our close relationship with our readers.

If we make a mistake or get something wrong, we want to know about it.

Our Complaints Policy has three levels:

Consideration

To make a complaint about any Elite Curated content, the first step is to contact Elite Curated’s Editor. You can do that by emailing contact@elitecurated.com. You will get a notification that your complaint has been received and outlining how we plan to address it.

The issue will be reviewed by Elite Curated’s Editor and any relevant Elite Curated journalists.

In our assessment of appropriate response, the Editor will consider whether the issue is in conflict with Elite Curated editorial policy.

If the complaint concerns one of Elite Curated commercial partners, we will pass the complaint on and it will transfer to the company’s own official feedback channels.

Address

If an issue is found to have breached our editorial policy the complainant will be contacted and consulted about how we are going to address it. Addressing a complaint involves the following steps:

  1. Correction. If an article is altered as the result of a complaint, we will highlight this in a note appearing at the end of the article with a date and brief relevant context.

  2. Removal of the piece of content concerned. Elite Curated only removes content from its platforms if there has been a serious breach of editorial guidelines.

  1. Apology. In serious cases of breaches of Elite Curated’s editorial guidelines, an apology will be published on the relevant Elite Curated platform. The complainant will be consulted about the wording and position of the apology.

Should you have further questions or complaints, please email contact@elitecurated.com and we will respond imminently.
