Everything You Need To Know About The iPhone 14

Updated: Jan 27

Apple announced a range of new products at its “Far Out” event overnight. These include not one, but four new iPhones, the Apple Watch Series 8 and a new version of AirPod Pro’s. The iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max all have a new, ground-breaking feature installed which saw Apple put safety at the forefront. All devices will feature built-in satellite antennas that can send and receive messages to and from outer space when the phone is out of range from cellular towers. This is so users can make emergency contact or send their locations when they have no service whatsoever. Unfortunately, this feature will only be in USA and Canada initially, with plans to expand fast.

Some new features are listed below:

• Optional ’Always-on display’ on Pro Models, meaning your screen will never dim.

• 2000 nit brightness to indoor visibility and substantial improvement to outdoor visibility

• The rear of the phone has 3 lenses: a 48 megapixel main camera, a 12MP telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide lens.

• Generally faster speeds, using A15 Bionic Chip for base models and A16 for Pro models.

•Most notably, the front camera has been incorporated, or blended into the “dynamic island” which is on the screen itself. The nicknamed “dynamic island” will act as a pill shaped bar on the top of the screen that displays incoming messages, music and more while on different apps. See photo below.
